From December 5th

Hello Dance Family!   One week to go!  The dancers have put in a lot of hard work.  We hope you all enjoy the show!  Below are reminders and other info. 

• Tickets:  Tickets are now open to the public.  Please purchase your tickets through your parent portal. You can also purchase tickets for friends and family through your portal.  The public ticket info is on a tab on the website under "Tickets-A 50's Christmas".  Here's the link if you want to share it.   https://www.letsdancewarroad.com/tickets-a-50s-christmas  The public link is on the FaceBook studio page, RiverPlace FaceBook page, and will go out to the RiverPlace email list.  Tickets will be on the public portal and your portal until they sell out.

• We are in need of an adult male that would be willing to be the DJ at the sock hop.  The DJ has four lines, which can be on a clipboard.  Text me if you are interested.   

• Dress rehearsal is Sunday from 1-3 at RiverPlace for all dancers and adults in the show. 
  
  

• Please have your dancer(s) come in their costume.  Adults in the show (teachers included) wear your outfits you are wearing for the show, please.  No need to worry about hair or makeup.  We nearly finished the entire show on Wednesday with stops, starts, and redoing a couple of the sections in 1.5 hours, so I'm hopeful we will finish in that amount of time or less.      

• I have 4 preschool costumes that were supposed to here today.  They didn't arrive, but I'm guessing they will be here tomorrow or Saturday.  I'll let those parents know when they are in.  All the other costumes I reordered are in.  I will bring them on Sunday if they are not picked up at the studio tomorrow between 3:00 and 6:30.  Please have your dancer come in their costume to rehearsal on Sunday.  No need to worry about hair or makeup.  We nearly finished the entire show on Wednesday with stops, starts, and redoing a couple of the sections in 1.5 hours, so I'm hopeful we will finish in that amount of time or less.  Parents that are being the Moms and Dads on stage, Thank you so much!!  We do have room for a couple more if anyone is interested.

• Hair and Makeup:  It would be fun to have some 50's hairstyles, but a low, slicked-back bun would be good, also.  Dancers that have shorter hair that won't fit in a bun can do a slicked-back low pony, or half-up, half-down style.  Littles can wear makeup or not. Older dancers should wear, at minimum, blush, red lipstick, a little glitter eyeshadow, and mascara.  

• We will be having a bake sale and ornament sale after each performance.  The competition dancers made 98 ornaments and baked a full day under the supervision of Julie Quibodeaux and other Moms.  The ornaments are $5. The small boxes of cookies are $25 and the large boxes are $35. There is quite a nice variety, also.  Cash or check only for the fundraiser.

Hello Dance Family!

No classes Thursday, October 31st.  Happy trick or treating!!

Friday, November 1 classes and Friday, November 8th classes will begin earlier due to school getting out at 1:00.  1:30-2:30 Emerald, 2:30-3:30 Diamond, 3:30-4:30 Diamond Elite

Acro 3 and 4 classes will meet for two hours next Monday, November 4th and the following Monday, November 11th from 6-8 pm.  We will be preparing for the Christmas show.

COSTUMES:  The ballet costumes are posted on statements.  We will be using these costumes for both the Christmas show and the spring show.  Included in the price are the tights, costumes, and all accessories. Payments for the ballet costumes are due no later than November 14th.  It is imperative that I receive the payment on or preferably before this date to get the costumes here on time.  If payment isn't received, I may not be able to order the costume for your child at that time.  If you have any questions, contact me right away (218-290-7973). 

• The tap/jazz level 3 and 4 costumes will be posted on statements in December.  

• Level 1 and 2 have 3-in-1 costumes, so if your dancer is in both tap/jazz and ballet, you will just change the skirt out.   

• The costume ordered for the preschool class is the only one for both shows. 

• Families that have 3 or more costumes can spread payments out over a few months.  

Tuition for September and October was due September 20th.  If you haven't made that tuition payment, please due so. Tuition for November and December is due November 20th.

The Christmas show, "A 50s Christmas" is December 12 (6:00 pm), 13 (6:00 pm), and 14th (2:00 pm) at RiverPlace.  There will be a rehearsal.  I will let you know when we coordinate days and times with the sound and light technicians.  Ticket sale info to follow.  This will be a fun musical theater performance including all ages of ballet, tap, and jazz classes. 

I plan to put this info on a tab on the website for reference.  Give me a few days to complete that.  Desi, Hannah. and I are looking forward to show!  It's going to be great!  As always, let me know if you have questions.
